"Paano mo nakakaya ito? "

I exclaimed this after one exhausting Saturday. I was tired because of our hyper and super kukulit babies. 

My son, Samuel, is 2 years old and my daughter, Samantha, is now 1 year old and it is hard to keep them still.

My son runs around the house. He climbs up the sofa, the stairs and even the windows! My little daughter, who is already more ten kilos, always wanted to be carried up.

And it is more exhausting when we are in a shopping mall. Samuel runs and pulls things around. I have no choice but to run after him for fear of kidnappers. Also, I always keep an eye on him so that he will not break anything while we are in SM.

Eating out is also a messy affair since a lot of food drops to the floor because of Samuel and Samantha’s messy eating.

Samuel and Samantha are the reasons why I do not find rest during the weekends. Sometimes I even felt more tired on those days. 

That's why I am amazed that My Beloved Wife manages to take care of our children every single day. Aside from that, Lei wake up early to prepare by lunch box and my breakfast. She also does chores like cleaning the house and washing our dirty clothes.

The Daddy Chronicles: 13 Things that Your Toddler Can Do that You Can't

I found this amusing post from Simple As That in Facebook. It lists 13 things that a toddler can do but an adult can't.

The post made me think of the things that my one-year old + Samuel can but I can't do or embarrassed to do because other people will say that I'm childish.

Here are my 13 Things that Your Toddler Can Do but You Can't:

1. Breastfeed in public without anyone tagging you as a pervert.

2. Kissed by many girls without being accused of being a playboy.

3. Pull hair or pinch a complete stranger without him/her getting mad about it.

4. Watch the same cartoon show for a hundred times without getting tired of it.

5. Cuddle with Mommy or Daddy without getting embarrassed about it.

6. Throw your things anywhere without the need to clean it up afterwards (Mommy or Daddy will do that for you).

7. Throw a major tantrum inside the shopping mall without anyone thinking that it is abnormal.

8. Poop and pee anywhere (including Daddy).

9. Get almost anything just by crying.

10. Be carried around by Mommy and Daddy.

11. Get super-excited in meeting up the Jollibee mascot.

12. Play peek-a-boo with the sales ladies of SM.

13. Take a bath with rubber ducky and your other toys.

I have other things to include in this list but that's for another post.

I bet other Daddies and Mommies reading this post have a thing or two to add to this list.

La Familia Ahab is Now in La Laguna

The birth of Little Ahab brought big changes in our lives. One change is my instant entry to fatherhood and My Beloved Wife Lei to motherhood. Suddenly we had to shift our focus from ourselves to our unico hijo.

Another major change is the transfer of our residence from Metro Manila to the province of Laguna.

We moved to Laguna to avoid the pollution in Metro Manila. We don’t want Little Ahab to have lung problems because of the dirty air of the Metro.

Laguna is not alien to me. In fact, I frequently visit this province because Lei lived here for a long time before she got a job in Metro Manila.

Laguna is located south of Laguna de Bay and is bounded by the provinces of Batangas and Cavite, and Metro Manila. Laguna is famous because of its most illustrious son: Jose Rizal.

In our 4 months of residency, I can say that Laguna is a good place to raise our family. It’s less polluted. It’s safer. Lastly, it’s convenient because of the presence of major commercial establishments.

Despite these positive comments, I still have complaints like Laguna being so far away from Manila (traveling 4 hours each day is truly exhausting). Another complaint is our house is poorly made. The real estate developer is baloney. The truth is that many homeowners in our subdivision are not satisfied with their work. I might talk about this developer in the future.

Another thing that I like with Laguna is its numerous historical and tourist spots. I already visited the Majayjay Falls, Splash Island, Nuvali, and the churches in Sta. Rosa, Cabuyao, and Biñan.

I know that Laguna has more surprises for me, Lei, and Little Ahab. Well, they just have to wait a few years so that Little Ahab and I can explore and discover the surprises.
