Who is Ishmael?

Call me Ishmael. Some years ago - never mind how long precisely - having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me offline, I thought I would sail about a little and see the exciting part of the online world.

Ishmael Fischer Ahab is the nom de plume I made when I started blogging. A heartbroken man in the beginning, I fused the two major characters of Herman Melville's Moby Dick to create a mask for my emo rants that I posted in the early months of the blog.

I am a blogger since 2007 and a traveler since I was little child. Offline, I am an engineer, the husband to a lovely lady (who I call My Beloved Wife Lei in the blog), and a father to two super kulit but sweet kids. I'm also a Catholic, online and offline, and I am proud to profess my Church's Creed.

I mostly write about my travels around the Philippines and abroad. I also spice the blog with my thoughts on, fatherhood, the Catholic Faith, politics, and current events. As a historical junkie, I usually reference my blog posts with historical information in the aim of informing you (my dear reader) of the rich cultural heritage that the Filipino people should be proud of.

I blog at least twice a week (Tuesday and Friday), sometimes every weekday for some timely posts or paid posts.

  3. If I ever have a chance soon to come home to the Philippines, I will really go to market daily. Iba kasi ang feel sa market kaysa sa groceries.
