The recent incident of death due to hazing done by a fraternity made me recall that time when I was being recruited in a fraternity during college. One of their selling points is "magaganda yung mga babae dun sa affiliated sorority namin".
"Napa-what the f " ako that time. I mean they are your "sisters" bakit nyo sila ibinebenta or ibinubugaw sa akin just to convince me to join? I did not join because I didn't like the physical and mental torture, and I don't believe in the value of joing a frat. Their tactic of honeytrapping me with beautiful sorority sisters actually turned me off.
They also promised me that their frat will help me advance in my career. They have "connections".
What's annoying is that that frat was persistent. The members stalked me in the campus just to force me to go to their orientation. I was glad that they stopped pestering me when I told them that I will not join their fraternity.
Looking back now and I can say that my decision is correct since I was able to progress in life without relying on a frat or even academic org.
