Thailand is a country that is very open to tourists. This can be seen in the fact that foreigners who wish to stay inside Thailand for a few days are not required to obtain a visa. Thus, foreign tourists can just ride an airplane to Thailand to enjoy seeing the temples in Ayuthayya or sunbathing at Pattaya.
The case is different, however, if you are planning to stay in Thailand for a month or more. Thai government will require you to apply for a visa.
Since I will stay in Thailand for six months, I was required to apply for a visa.
Applying for a Thai visa is very easy and very quick. Unlike the other embassies of other countries, the Thai embassy doesn't have long queue of people who are applying for visa. I, for instance, saw no other person applying for a visa when I went to the Royal Thai Embassy in Makati City.
How to Go to Thai Embassy
The Royal Thai Embassy is located along Rada (Thailand) Street in the Central Business District of Makati City. The embassy is just a short walk away from Greenbelt.
Here is the map, from Google, showing the location of the Royal Thai Embassy:
Commuters can reach the embassy by riding a Ayala Avenue-bound jeepney at Mantrade, which is located near the MRT-Magallanes Station. Go down in front of Greenbelt and then walk to the embassy.
Another way to reach the Royal Thai Embassy is by riding a bus that pass along Ayala Avenue. Go down near the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) building and then walk.

Thai Visa Application Schedules
You just don't go to the Royal Thai Embassy and apply for a visa. You have to follow the Consular Section's schedule so your time will not be wasted. The schedule can be seen at this page of the Royal Thai Embassy website.
Application for a visa are only entertained from 9:30 AM to 12:00 noon. Visa are released from 3:00 PM to 5 PM.
The Royal Thai Embassy is open from Monday to Friday but it is closed during holidays. The embassy follows the holiday schedules of both Philippines and Thailand so it is good to check if the the Royal Thai Embassy schedule at this page of their website.

Thai Visa Requirements
Here are the requirements for the Thai visa application:
1. Application form and supplement form, which can be downloaded here (PDF).
2. Two 3.5 cm by 4.5 cm photos taken within the last six months.
3. Your Philippine passport.
4. Other supporting documents that will help in the approval of your Thai visa application.
5. Payment of 2,900 Philippine pesos for a single-entry Thais visa or 7,100 Philippine pesos for multiple-entry Thai visa.
You just have to wait for 2 days to know if the Royal Thai Embassy approved your visa application or not.

ReplyDeleteThank you for the visit MeCoy.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteWhat type of visa did you get?
I got a multiple entry visa that is valid for one year.
Did they ask your ticket?
ReplyDeleteroundtrip ticket ba kinuha mu?
Manilyn
DeleteThe Thai Embassy didn't ask for my ticket. They just got my payment, passport and other supporting documents for the processing of the Visa.
Hi, may I know po what supporting documents you submitted? You said you needed to stay for 6 months, is that for tourism purposes or work or etc? I want to visit Thailand and stay there from March to June with my kids sana :) Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHello Anonymous.
DeleteI applied for the Business visa because I went here to Thailand for a work-related activity. So, I submitted a document showing the invitation of an organization in Thailand to join the training that they're offering.
If your just visiting Thailand then what you need is just the Tourist visa, which entitles you to a 3-month stay (if single entry visa) or 1-year stay (if multiple entry visa).
Whatever kind of visa that you apply for, you will be required to leave Thailand at the end of 3 months.
Sorry for the late reply. Hope this helped.

sir, as in 2 days po tlaga ang aantayin kung na-approve ka? how many percent po ba nag pag-asa na i-approve ka nila? tnx po.
DeleteI am hired as a personal assistant of a business man in thailand.. My contract with him is 18mos. What kind of visa should i have??
DeleteI suggest that you apply for a business visa. The embassy might require a letter of recommendation from your employer.
Deletevery informative. thanks1
ReplyDeletehi!
ReplyDeleteb visa ba kinuha mo?
do i need a passbook which has 20000 baht to get a b visa?
Pero para mas klaro, I suggest that you call the Thai embassy.
Deletehi.
ReplyDeletethen kailangan ba talagang mag exit sa thailand after 3 months??.
thank you..
Good day.
I suggest that you call them.
Kailangan po talagang mag-exit every three months. Ang ginagawa ng iba ay land travel to Cambodia then balik agad once maka-exit ka sa Cambodian border.
MAY ISA PA PO AKONG TANONG DON PO SA LIST OF REQUIREMENTS.
DeleteANG SABI NYO PO IS "Other supporting documents that will help in the approval of your Thai visa application."
WHAT ARE THE SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS THAT WE NEED PROVIDE?.
CAN YOU GAVE ME ANY "IDEA" OR " SUGGESTION" SO THAT WE CAN EASILY PROVIDE IT ALL.
THEN MAGKANO PO BA YUNG GAGASTUSIN PAG NAG EXIT KA NG "CAMBODIA"??
THANKS FOR YOU RESPONSE.. ^_^
AND HOPING FOR YOU NEXT RESPONSE.. HEHEHE.. ^_^
Thank for you response...
hoping for other response.. hehehehe.... ^_^
Ung MOE ko from Thailand dapat sa Cebu Thai consulate ako mag apply, due to time sa Manila nlang ako mag apply. Pwede bang i consider ng Mnaila Thai embassy ung application ko though ang endorsement ko is Cebu?
ReplyDeleteHello. I have an invitation letter from a company based in Australia and I work for them, I am based here in Manila. Ininvite lang nila ako na pumunta ng thailand for training or induction process as the payment is not coming from thailand naman. Do you think po they will gonna need to ask for additional documents for tourist visa application...? less 2 months lang kailangan ko po dun sandali lang ako. Please pakisagot lang po.
ReplyDeleteHI Mich. Sorry for the very late response. I am not sure kung anong magandang gawin mo tungkol dyan. Huwag ka na magdagdag ng documents other than those required for a tourist visa.
DeleteHi Sir!
Inquire lang po sana about tourist visa requirements, processing and scheduled appointment. Meron po ba kayong idea? Thanks!
DeleteTelephone no.: (632) 810-3833 local 102 or 103
Fax no.: (632) 817-4262
Hi there, just want to ask if i want to get a 1 year non immigrant visa, what reason could i possibly say sa embassy kung bakit kuha ako ng 1 year visa or are they asking ba if bakit kukuha ka ng 1 year non immigrant visa? Thanks.
Like triple entry visa? And what will be the requirements kaya?
ReplyDeleteAng pagkakaalam ko ay multiple entry visa na binibigay ng Thai Embassy ay for one year validity lang at required kang luimabas ng Thailand every 6 months.
ReplyDeleteHi po,
ReplyDeleteBalak po sana nung tatay ng anako ko (2yrs old) na mag tour kami sa bangkok for 10 days kung san sya nagtatrabaho 1 yr pa lang.
Nagtatrabaho ako dito sa pinas for 4yrs.
Waiting for your response.
Thanks & Godbless.
Sorry for the late reply Sal.
hi! good day!
ReplyDeleteano po ba yong tinatawag na non b visa? what are the requirements needed aside from you’ve listed.
thanks! for the reply
I'm not sure pero malamang yung non-B visa ay non-business visa.
I'm 19 years old and magsstay po ako sa Thailand for 6 weeks for an exchange student program. What type of visa should I apply for and anong documents po kaya ang kailangan (since hindi pa naman ako working so wala akong means to support myself financially). Thank you!
DeleteThe visa that you must obtain is the Education (ED) Visa.
Hi, I need your help. One of the schools in Thailand is offering me a job starting on May 10, 2015. They promised me to provide the Visa and work permit. Then they asked me to apply for a tourist visa? Do I still need it and what else do I need to do? Please help me. Here is my email add : ronmar.ramos@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteOne of the schools in Thailand is offering me a job starting on May 10, 2015. They promised me to provide the visa and work permit. They even asked me to apply for a tourist visa. Do I need it? What else do I need it? Thank you very much.
ReplyDeleteI think that it would be illegal for you to work in Thailand if you only hold a tourist visa. I suggest that you clarify it with your future employer. I suggest that you get a Non-Immigrant Business Visa.
Deletehi. just want to ask if tumatanggap ba sila ng documents online?
ReplyDeleteNo. Dapat personal kangpumunta sa Thai Embassy.
DeleteIs there a Thai Embassy in Cebu City? I am already working in Thailand but I decided to resign. My work permit and Visa expires in July. I got a new job in an office, however I will be under probation for 4 months. My problem is, I am going back to the Philippines in August, without a work permit. I am planning to apply for a NON-B visa in Cebu. Will that be very bureaucratic? Will I be questioned by immigration officers in NAIA airport immigration? What are the documents needed to apply for this kind of visa? Response will be highly appreciated. Thank you
ReplyDeleteI think that Thai Embassy have a consulate in Cebu. Please contact them at these telephone nos. (032) 70261 and (032) 93270.
DeleteI think that you will not be questioned by Immigration Officers even if you get you Thai Visa in Cebu. Thai Visa issued in Cebu (if there's any) is legal and valid.
DeleteHello.. I was wondering after your application has been approved.. Will they mail the visa to you or you have to get it personally from the embassy again? I am from davao kase eh but was planning to stay for a week in Makati naman... but I just need to know just in case...
ReplyDeleteI picked up my passport with the Thai visa from the embassy. I think they don't mail the visa.
DeleteHi kahit ngayong 2015, 2 working days parin ang proessing? Needed paba ang round trip ticket pag working visa ang aaplyan o yung invitation lang from the employer? Lamat
ReplyDeleteI don't know kung 2 working days pa din. Regarding the roundtrip ticket, the Thai embassy did not require it.
DeleteThank you for your helpful information. I have a confirmed ticket for Bangkok from Manila on Tuesday 12th May, so I apply for Thai Tourist visa at the Embassy tomorrow. I am in Quezon City. So if I submit Visa application in Malafi tomorrow, I will collect passport on Monday?
ReplyDeleteIs there a good affordable accommodation convenient to the Thai Embassy and/ or airport? Really appreciate your help. Thank you.
You may collect your passport on Monday if there's no problem with your passport or visa application. It depends upon the embassy.
DeleteAs for the affordable accommodation in the area, there are a lot of small hotels and motels near the Thai embassy and airport. I haven't tried any hotel in Makati so I can't give you a good recommendation. The only hotels I can think of is the Avitel Hotel in South Super Highway and the Eurotel near Don Bosco Church.
Very informative,! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI have a confirmed ticket for Bangkok from Manila in 6 days time, Tuesday 12th May.
I am in Quezon City, so I apply for my Thai Tourist Visa tomorrow. Is there an affordable accommodation in Manila which is convenient to Thai Embassy and/ airport? Your assistance is very much appreciated. Thank you.
Good of you to answer our questions, Ishmael.
ReplyDeleteI am applying for a non immigration visa B multiple entry as I will undergo management training for a year. My question is, would you know if there is anything I need to do on the POEA side?
I think that you don't need to go to POEA since your trip to Thailand is just for a short training. You will not go there as an OFW. I went to Thailand and stayed there for 6 months for a training and I didn't go to POEA.
DeleteThat is my opinion. Of course, it would be good if you contact POEA regarding your concern.
Wala na akong isinamang attachment since wala namang hiningi yung Thai embassy.
DeleteHi What are the requirements for work visa and how much is the processing fee? Need your help. Thank u in advance.
ReplyDeleteI have no idea regarding sa requirement ng work visa. I suggest that you ask the Thai Embassy about it.
DeleteHi Mr. Ishmael pwde magtanung?
ReplyDeletenagstay ako ng thailand 2yrs before na walang working permit ,then umuwi po ako nag biglaan dahil sa boyfriend kong arabo nagvacation kmi dto sa pinas then last week flight nmin inoffload po ako ng immigration dahil sa passport ko na walang visa or working permit , tanung ko po may pag asa p ba na makakuha ako ng visa sa thai embassy dto sa manila? one month lng mag stay? Salamat.
DeleteHello Ishamel, Pwede magtanong. Gusto nila lahat ng documents from Thailand I i-send through courrier, But wala na akong oras.
Heto yung telephone number: 815-4219-20
Fax number: 815-4221
sir, klangan pa po ba mgpa-appoinment online bago mgpunta ng embassy? thank you
ReplyDeleteWalang online appointment.
ReplyDeleteSorry for the late reply. You can check the requirements by going to this link: http://www.thaiembassy.org/hochiminh/en/services/2886/34923-Non-Immigrant-Visa-%22O%22---Accompanying-sp.html
DeleteSir Ishmael, bakit po Ho Chi Mink i-address ung guarantee letter from school? Sample lang ba yan for those aplying in Vietnam, and since sa Pinas ako mag apply, address ko sa Thai Embassy Manila, tama ba Sir? Mejo silly ung question, bat mas maige nang makasigurado, nagtanong ako sa mga friends ko dito, nalilito din sila :-( And BTW, if me non-O na ako for my daughter, pede na ako di kumuha ng return ticket diba? Thanks po ulit sa sagot Sir.
DeleteHi, 2,900 parin ba ang bayad for single entry visa? I'll be applying for an Education Visa this coming October. Thanks!
I suggest that you ask the Thai embassy about this.
DeleteHi Sir. Nakahanap po ako ng work sa Thailand. And i have all the documents from my company sa Thailand.
ReplyDeleteHi.
ReplyDeleteHello.
DeleteThank you.
God bless us all po.
ReplyDeleteHi. Sorry for the late reply.
hi. what is the best reason to get 6months visa in Thailand?
ReplyDeleteMy passport expires on May2016 but I will get my new passport on February 18, 2016. But my flight to Bangkok is on February 19, 2016. Can I get 6months Thai visa using my old passport? Please help me. thanks
You need your new passport to renew your visa. However, you must keep your old passport as a proof that Thailand previously gave you a visa.
DeleteI apologize for the late reply.
I don't know what will be the best reason to get a 6-month Thai visa. I guess telling them that you will work in Thailand will be enough reason to get a visa.
DeleteHi, mag-aaral (training for teachers course) kasi ako sa Thailand this July for one month (July 4-29) pero I will go to Thailand po on June 27 and stay there for 31. Sai sa website nung school, if it's 8 weeks or belo, I don''t need to get ED visa. Ask ko lang, if hindi "ED" visa ang kailangan ko, can I get a 60-day tourist visa sa Philippines? How much po ito? Same din po ba ang needs for those staying for 30 days Tourist visa. Kasi ayaw ko na ng hassle sa Thailand of extending my visa since yung training ko is very rigid no time to go to extend it while I'm in Thailand. Thanks

ReplyDeleteHello. Sorry for the late reply. You don't need to book a roundtrip ticket. When I go to Thailand I only had one way ticket.
DeleteAs for the invitation letter from your friend, I am not sure if that will matter with the Thai embassy. Probably not.
Hello Mister Ishmael.. I want to study in Thailand and at the same time having a part time job, is it possible? What type of visa should I apply? What are the requirements?
ReplyDeleteThank you! Looking forward to hear from you..
Hi.
DeleteI am not sure what kind of visa you should get. I guess you should get a student visa. YOu are not allowed to work part time if you have Education Visa. You can only work as intern.
I f you wish to work then maybe you should get a work visa.
Thanks for your reply.. How much will cost in applying tourist visa? And, how many days?
DeleteGood day Sir Ishmael,
ReplyDeleteI will be applying for Non-B this week. I have the plane ticket dated on July 31st. Just in case they need it, will they follow the plane ticket date as the starting date of the approved visa? Because there's a big chance that I may have to rebook my flight earlier than what I initially booked once I have finished all the process including POEA and since my company in Thailand is expecting me to start by first week of August.
Thank you in advance
Hi Zhy. The starting date of your visa is the day when the Thai embassy approved your visa. They will not follow what's written on your plane ticket.
DeleteHi, it's Me Cindy. In case po mg.apply ako for Thai non-immigrant visa on Monday. Is it possible na makukuha yung visa ko by the following day or I will start the 2 days after the day na ng.apply ako?
ReplyDeletethank you :)
Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHi.
Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHi Ishmael, nag-inquire ako by phone yesterday ss embassy and they sent me the requirements for business visa via email which are as follows:
ReplyDeleteNON-IMMIGRANT “B” VISA – MEETING/TRAINING PURPOSES/WORKSHOP/CONFERENCE
1. Letter of request from the employer
2. Signatory of the letter of request in lieu of #1
If: Thai national – Copy of Thai government ID
If: Foreigner – Copy of passport and valid Thai visa page, copy of work permit with validity
3. Business Registration of the company in Thailand
4. Guarantee Letter from the company in the Philippines
5. Employment Certificate from the company in the Philippines stating salary
6. Valid passport/travel document (at least 6 months)
7. 2 passport or 2x2 size photos (white background)
8. Airline ticket reservation (one way is acceptable)
9. Accomplished application form ( For visa application forms visit www.thaiembassymnl.ph and click consular services)
Im just wondering if you were given the same list before and yet they only asked for Letter of Invitation. I'll be visiting thailand for Training purposes. kelangan ko kayang kumpletuhin lahat yan kc in your case way back 2012, parang minimal lng requirements. Kind Regards.
DeleteHI! Good day! ask ko lang po if may interview pa po ba pag nag apply for tourist visa? mag apply po kasi ako for tourist visa. Thank you!
So I think hindi ka rin nila i-interview.
DeleteI am an American Citizen living long term in the Philippines, I would like to get a 1 year multi entry type 0 visa like I have had before. Do I have to go all the way back to a Thai Embassy in the U.S. Or can I get this at the Thai Embassy in Makati?
ReplyDeleteI am not sure about this but I think you can get a Visa in the Thai embassy in Makati.
DeleteOf course, it is better if you ask the Thai Embassy about this.
Just want to ask kung anu mga supporting Docs na kelangan. I will apply on December 7.. Thank u
ReplyDeleteDepende po yan. Kung work visa yan baka kailangan nyo ng document from the company kung saan ka magtatrabaho.
DeleteHi Ishmael, can I process my non-immigrant visa b in Cebu consulate?
ReplyDeleteYes. I think you can process your Thai Visa if they have a consulate in Cebu.
ReplyDeletePlanning to study in Thailand gov't university this coming year. Ask ko land po, base on some article regarding foreign student who holds ED-visa, 90 days lang po pwede mag-stay then babalik po sa bansa, it means po ba kailangan mag-stay ng 30 days sa Pilipinas and file another ED-visa to continue yung course na pinili mo sa University na yun? Do I need to file and pass another documents or I can file for an ED-Visa extension in Bangkok immigration instead? Hope to hear from you. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteKoroshi.
Just want to ask again a question i call Thailand embassy they give me the requirement but my problem is the bank statement they not even told me how much money i need in bank.. Just applying for 59 day visa. Do you have any idea regarding that i got 24K in my bank you think thats better.. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThe Thai Embassy didn't ask for my bank statement when I applied for visa sa I am cannot answer your question.
DeleteIn my opinion, your 24K is OK.
ReplyDeleteBale saturday po flight q dto s pinas then balik q po is monday afternoon..
Magkaibang country po kami manggagaling ..
Thanks po and Godbless
Hi. Hindi mo na kailangan ng Visa. All you need is Philippine passport since sandali ka lang naman mag-stay sa Thailand.

Mrami pong salamat!

Hi! Rony here.. im going to apply tourist visa for three months may i ask how many days mare-release ung tourist visa if ever they approved it in 2 days?
ReplyDeleteMga days po hinintay ko bago ko nakuha yung Visa ko from the Thai embassy.
DeleteI mean, 2 days.
ReplyDeleteIf there is a Thai consukar office in Cebu then pwede kumuha ng Thai visa dun.
DeleteHI PO PWEDE PO BA AKO MAGWORK SA THAILAND EVEN I AM UNDERGRADUATE
DeleteDo I need to set an appointment before going to embassy or can I go directly in the morning with all my complete documents?
ReplyDeleteYou can just directly to the Thai Embassy.
DeleteAsk ko Lang po Kasi I will get the multiple tourist visa in thailand that would be 6 months.. I will exit thailand after before 60 days end..Did the immigration ask po sa return ticket pabalik ng pinas? At ano pa mga tinatanong ng immigration?
ReplyDeleteHindi ako tinanong ng Immigration about the return ticket.
Appreciate po if you can response on this matter at the earliest.
Maraming salamat po in advance.
Regards,
Hi.
I will suggest and inform them accordingly.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. I hope na maging OK na yung problema mo. God bless.
DeleteHello Sir, Talaga bang walang bayad pag nag apply ng tourist visa for 2months. How many days at makuha ang visa ? Please reply the soonest. Salamat po. God bless !!!
Mga two to three days ang hintayin mo para makuha mo yung visa.

DeleteGood day sir, ask ko lang po kung pwede pa ba akong mag apply ng single entry non immigrant visa, kagagaling ko lang po kasi ng thailand using yung free tourist visa na 2 months and 7 days.
ReplyDeleteAnd ask ko lng po if what sa tingin nyo yun supporting documents na kailangan ko,may girlfriend is thai and waiting kme sa mg papers for marriage.
I am not sure what documents are needed for such kind of visa. I suggest that you ask the Thai embassy about this.
