The Danger of Pills, IUD and Depo Provera

I posted for many times already about the dangers of artificial family planning tools being pushed by the Reproductive Health Bill (RH Bill) which is HB 4244 as the current version in Congress. It seems like more people are still unaware about the health hazards of artificial family planning tools because many people are still promoting its use and the Aquino Administration is still intent on pushing RH Bill despite the fact that it is dangerous to women's health.

Now, let me show you the health hazards of Oral Contraceptive Pills (a.k.a. Birth Control Pills), Intra-Uterine Device (IUD) and Depo Provera.
.
Dangers of OCP, IUD and Depo Provera

For the woman taking oral contraceptive pills (or birth control pills), she has the chance to get breast cancer, cervical cancer and venous thrombosis.

For the woman using IUD, she has the chance to get actinomycosis, ovarian abscess, stones and cervicitis.

Those who are using Depo Provera has the chance to get osteoporosis.

Birth control pills, IUDs and Depo Provera are dangerous to women's health. The question is why some of our Legislators in Senate and Congress are hell-bent in passing the RH Bill that will mandate the government to "freely" distribute this dangerous artificial family planning tools? Are they not concerned about the health of Filipina women who will receive these artificial family planning tools? What is more frustrating is that the promoters of RH Bill are women like Miriam-Defensor Santiago, Janette Garin and Pia Cayetano.

  1. But the RH Bill only provides OPTIONS. There are many drugs that have side effects but are still legal. It is still up to the public to decide whether they would take them or not. They are still available because sometimes Pros outweigh the Cons. And please correct your statement that birth control pills cause cancer because studies have actually shown that they actually prevent certain types of cancer.

So pass the RH bill and respect the individual's capacity to choose

  2. Hello Anonymous

Seems like you are mistaken regarding this RH Bill issue eh? Well, to enlighten you, let me explain bit by bit.

In the first sentence of your comment, you said:

"But the RH Bill only provides OPTIONS."

Options? Are those options not existing? Are you telling me that because RH Bill is not yet a law, the people has no option? Oh come on. Look around you. DOH is already giving these artificial contraceptive tools through its health centers. Also, these contraceptive tools are already available in Mercury Drugs and other drugstores.

RH Bill is coercive. Coercive in a sense that it forces people to pay taxes that will be used to purchase things that goes against their personal beliefs. So, don't come here telling me that RH Bill just give us OPTIONS. RH Bill is not necessary because those options are already available.

"There are many drugs that have side effects but are still legal. It is still up to the public to decide whether they would take them or not. They are still available because sometimes Pros outweigh the Cons. "

Oh yes yes. You are correct. Yet those side-effects are not lethal as compared to contraceptive pills, IUD and depo provera. Following your argument, then the CONS of these contraceptive tools outweigh the PROS. What is the use of "preventing pregnancy" when you will die because of taking pills?

"And please correct your statement that birth control pills cause cancer because studies have actually shown that they actually prevent certain types of cancer."

No, Anon. I will not correct my statement. It is you who should correct what you wrote here. It is a fact that contraceptive pills increase breast cancer risk. Even your ally Esperanza Cabral admitted that fact. What's the use of pills preventing "certain types of cancer" if also increase the risk of other types of cancer like breast cancer. Don't tell me that it is OK with to have breast cancer because other types of cancer are prevented to occur in your body.

"So pass the RH bill and respect the individual's capacity to choose"

Haha...yo! Before you chant that pro-RH slogan, I suggest that you read first the RH Bill ok? And also read about the negative effects of artificial contraceptive tools. You are putting women's life at risk. You are disrespecting their right to have a healthy body that is free from dangers caused by you beloved contraceptive tools.
