Swensen's is everywhere. I never fail to see a Swensen's restaurant whenever I visit a mall in Bangkok. This restaurant is more common than the stores of McDonalds. It seems like the Thais enjoy dining at Swensen's and it got me curious.
So, one hot day, after shopping for an anniversary gift for my Beloved at Jatujak Market, me and a friend went to a mall near Victory Monument to try Swensen's.
.
Swensen's is an ice cream restaurant. I was glad that we visited this restaurant during that hot day. Ice cream is the best way to cool down and beat off the heat.
The ice cream shop has a wide selection of frozen treats. They have sundaes of different flavors. They have floats, yogurts and even green tea-flavored ice cream (which I think is enjoyed by tea-drinking Thais). What caught my attention are the chocolate-flavored ice cream.
There are many chocolate ice cream to choose from but what I ordered is the Chewy Choco Fudge (priced at 65 Baht).
.
It is simply delicious. What I like about this ice cream is the chocolate. It has chocolate ice cream, chocolate cookies, chocolate wafer and even chocolate-dipped cherry on top. This is a perfect ice cream for chocolate addicts like me.
.
Another shot of that chocolatey goodness. |
I discovered that Swensen's is not exclusive in Thailand. There are Swensen's stores in the Philippines (hooray!) and they even have a Facebook page. I will surely visit Swensen's when I go back to the Philippines to try their other frozen treats.
